Craft Fairs and stuff

Don't forget I'll be at Immanuel Lutheran in Hamilton, OH tomorrow from 9am-3pm. Should be a fun day. Apparently one of the ladies will be selling homemade baked goods.

I'll post photos from Immanuel Lutheran after the weekend. But for now, how about a photo of some blue stuff.

Craft Fair!

People seem to really like the little heart clips that I made for Bella, so I've been making lots more in lots of colors. Here are some photos.

Saturday, October 17th I will be at Immanuel Lutheran School 1285 Main St. in Hamilton, OH selling at the school's student activities fundraiser. Of course I will be leaving the curse word stuff at home.

Plus I've been making some special orders, like this "Go Cats" barrette for Vicky. If you have one of my special orders, I hope you love it.

photos from Bellevue's Art in the Park

Ribbon of barrettes from behind. In the background, you can see my sign and barrette tree.
The sign. I think it turned out really well. Jenn and Tony were on the other side of this lattice.
Candle holder of bobby pins. $3.00 each or 4/$10.00. I'm going to put bobby pin assortments in my Etsy shop.
Me and my sign. I should have taken a photo of Ellie when she came to visit. Thanks again for your help Amy.
The back table with assorted barrettes, tree and tray. It was very bright when I had finished setting everything up. I promise more photos next time, and maybe a video.

Look for new stuff on my Etsy Shop www.hairware.etsy.com.

OMG! OMG! OMFG!!!

Okay, so I'm about 24 hours away from my first ever craft fair. I'm nervous and I'm trying not to panic. What if I'm a failure?
I know I won't be a failure, but I always have that fear. Plus I'm a worrier.
I have a nice long list of stuff to take and stuff to keep me occupied, things like a deck of cards, sunscreen and calculator. I could go on for the whole list but that would bore you.

I lost my HairWare pin Wednesday, and I'm hoping it turns up.
In the mean time I made myself the barrettes on the right that say "hair" and "ware" to wear in my pigtails.
I picked up my banner yesterday afternoon. It looks AweSome!! Big thanks go to Jess at Staples for helping me out and being so patient with my signage ignorance.

If you get a chance, come on by.

Anyway, here's some more photos. These are not all that I've made, just ones I've taken photos of.
I made the green ones to wear to the casino last week.

I told you I was cranking them out...

more new barrettes.

These are reserved for Bella. Whichever ones work better for her hair.

I made a logo...

The photo I turned into a logo.

And the logo.
Look for it on business cards and craft fair sign
(I hope this works the way I imagine.)

It's official...

I am in the Bellevue, Ky Art in the Park craft fair Sept 12th. Bellevue is just south of Cincinnati near Newport. I'll give you more info about when and where when I get it.

I have been making barrettes like crazy and have more photos for you.

This one has been edited for little eyes and delicate sensibilities, but you probably know what they say.
Check out my little alien.
And these faces are blue because they are "blue."

The stuff...

Announcing... HairWare Parties!!!
If you need a reason to throw a party, and you think your friends would like my barrettes and other products -earrings, pins, key chains, bracelets, and anything else that comes to mind- consider throwing a HairWare Party. It's a great excuse to see your friends, and the hostess (or host) gets a free gift made specifically for them and everyone at the party gets to pay friends and family prices for any HairWare they might buy.
Contact me to set up your party today.

Also, I realized how pitiful my craft fair stock was last night and spent several hours making more. I have more suns and pet rocks, and I've added starfaces. Check out the photos.

And last but not least, I have changed the rement barrettes to flat top alligator clips, because I think they'll stay in better than those bobby pins did.

Thanks!

Big thanks to everyone who bought barrettes or other stuff from me in the last few days I really appreciate the business.
On another note, since I've sold some stuff, I need to make more stuff. That's how I plan to spend the bulk of this week. Lets hope it's not too hot for me to fire up the toaster oven.
From what I understand, people like the pet rocks, ghosts and suns. I've had requests for rainbows and bowler hats. Let me know if you want me to make anything else.
Have a good sunday and be sure to check out my etsy shop, www.hairware.etsy.com.
Alita

ps.I forgot to mention that I picked upo some chopsticks so I can try hairsticks.
fun! ;>)

I thought you might want to see what I've been up to.

I've been making lots of new Hair Ware. Getting ready for the 2 craft fairs I'm supposed to be in the weekend of Sept 12th (really one of the booths is a cooperative, but they want the barrettes there too). So without further ado, some photos...

I just set up my soopsee account. I like how the website looks and am hoping it will help bring all my HairWare stuff together.

Look for hairware in stores!

Now that I am unemployed, I have a lot more time to work on the barrettes (BTW-I was let go on Thursday). I have been thinking about talking to some little funky shops to see if they would be interested in selling hairware. The first is in Lexington and one in Louisville. I will be talking to places in Cincinnati after my world-wind tour is done on Sunday night.
Happy 4th of July and I'll keep you posted about any shops that agree to sell my stuff. As always you can buy from me directly or through Etsy.

Hi, I'm Alita

That's pronounced uh-lee-ta.
By day I'm a librarian; been a teen librarian for the last 5 years, before that I was a librarian at a local art museum.
By night I'm a lot of different things: couch potato, knitter, artist, daydreamer, someday author (see the previous)... I could go on forever.
I'm also the creator of Hair Ware. www.hairware.etsy.com Fun and frivolous barrettes for the individual person. I use a lot of toys and polymer clay in my barrette making. I like to make things I would want to wear. And I've heard that they would sell better in person than on Etsy, so I'm going to start selling at craft fairs with the tutelage of my friend Jennifer. I'm hoping my first one will be in September.
